Returning Clarks shoes after wearing them?

I bought a pair of shoes at Clarks yesterday and I'm wearing them today, but they have a strip on the top that causes a lot of pain on the top of my feet!
This is the model:

Would it be possible to return them because of this? I couldn't notice this at the shop as the pain only started after wearing them for a while..

I'd be rejecting them for being ugly as sin!0

If you have the receipt then give it a try.
I've only had to take shoes back to Clarks twice, but on both occasions I was offered either a full refund or a replacement - and they were 3 month old+ shoes (although I did have the receipt).0 -
After wearing them....? A friend of mine took a pair of trainers back to a Reebok shop after wearing them once because her foot went numb and they refused to give her a refund or exchange..0

But Clarks tend to value customer service and opinion more than "sports" footwear shops.
Just give it a try - they'll most likely offer you at least an exchange or credit note. (As long as you have the receipt).0 -

Yep, my shoes were well worn.
As bod mentioned, Clarks are more customer service-y than places like Reebok!0 -

According to that site Lorna, Susan, Noreen, Kerry, Kathryn and Sylvia all think they are most comfortable shoes they have ever had.:D0

Ultimately you have no statutory right to return something if you simply change your mind. Their own returns policy state they must be in original condition which effectively reads, unworn.
The only way to force a return is to argue they are defective/faulty in which case you do have a statutory right but could end up with an argument over this is the case or not.
The simplest thing is to take them into to shop, say what the problem is and see what they say. They are one of the better stores for service generally and will react better to a friendly approach than someone demanding their rights.0 -
I know i don't have any right, if I did I wouldn't be asking here... but the truth is the shoes are very painful, find strange that it doesn't happent to other people, but then each person is different...0
