" SPRAY....LIFTS ICE AWAY FAST!"

No it does not. Don't buy RHINO brand de-icer. It does not work.
I sprayed it on my windscreen yesterday and it just froze to the ice already there..... Concentrated my !!!

  • Maybe effectiveness of de-icers (more water content?) has deteriorated. In recent years I've not found one which actually de-ices and just freezes on contact with the screen/glass. Doesn't seem to make any difference whether you buy cheap or familiar branded e.g. Carplan to name just one.
    So you're not alone.

Try taking it back to the shop, tell them its not fit for the purpose. Or else, does it have a customer services address on the can? Write to them.

I normally buy cheap ones from Wilkos or Asda and havent had any problems with them, I have found though that I actually prefer the squirty sort rather than an aerosol type if you know what I mean!

hhmmm yes, know what you mean, I got through most of a can this morning on my screen. I began to think peeing on it would be better (actually, it would wouldnt it?) more eco friendly than aerosols too!!

  • I find a large piece of plastic placed across windscreen and shut inside the doors really good and it was free :)

Thanks. I think that all de-icers must be a con. Even the 'industrial ones' at work are not much better.

I never bother with de-icer. Just buy a decent scraper and use some good old fashioned elbow grease ;)

That method doesn't leave your windows all smeary either. I hate smeary windows!
Here I go again on my own....

LOL. Brilliant post. If the Rhino doesn't de-ice your windscreen then the steam from your ears surely will.
