Leaving Orange Broadband

Hey there,
Had a quick search and don't think there's a thread on this.
I joined Orange Broadband at the end of August. The connection has always been pretty slow and I did ring them a couple of times (Admittedly I didn't ring them as much as I should have done because I know how long these phone calls take).
Over the weekend we had no internet at all and I decided I wanted to leave. I was then informed that I had signed up until 2013 and would have to allow Orange up to 30 days to fix my connection.
Now, I haven't signed a contract and later found it in my inbox. I didn't sign it and Orange never chased me for it.
Reckon I can leave without paying their fee? According to some Bolshie guy I spoke to on Sunday I'm 'breaking the contract' and would be charged for it. I absolutely do not want to pay this and only realised I hadn't signed anything later in the day. (I'm not the best complainer out there, I'm afraid).
Thanks,
Greensville.

You can leave anytime, but they will want you to pay up to the end of the contract.
If your gripe is about speed, post you router line statistics and we can try to help.
Ideally with the router plugged into your master socket. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

If you signed up online, ticking the 'I agree to the terms and conditions box' is deemed to be your electronic signature. There's no requirement for an actual signature. If you did agree to those terms, you will have to abide by them now.0 -
