    Hello!

I've tried two places in MK so far.

Oriel close in wolverton; nasty. AVOID. Had our cars vandalised and all sorts.
Newport Pagnell, green park drive. Lovely. Nice area. Also if you like the internet, you can get BT infinity most places there (FttC, up to 40mb).

I've heard that you should avoid anywhere near the centre. And I've seen the estates there and yeah.. do avoid. :p

    Willen park is very nice.
Blakelands is the nicest area, if you are rich.

Olney is nice little bit further out ok if you drive not sure if there is bus but sure there must be.
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.
  • Good areas are Westcroft, Broughton Gate, Monkston, Middleton,Medbourne, Grange Farm, Oxley Park and Stony Stratford which has a village feel to it. You'll be fine. It's not as bad as it is made out to be once you get used to it...and only 40 minutes from London.:)

How far do you want to live from work? That might help us to give you an idea. The further out from the centre (not Bletchley/Wolverton), usually the better...

Oh and the cheeky blighter who suggested Olney is quite nice - Yes it is - but to suggest Olney, is like suggesting living in Bristol is quite a nice place near London. I'm from Olney, and it's 15 miles away; it's not in Milton Keynes ! If you put "Olney, Milton Keynes" on the address, it would devalue houses by 1/4! In fact Olney is nearer to Bedford and as close to N'Hampton as it is MK.

Centre to centre the distance is 10.1 miles according to the AA.

And the address is Olney, MK46. Methinks someone is protecting their rural idyll from newcomers.

That sounds correct, or as someone else put it, look on a map, if the roads are straight don't live there.

Might be worth looking at the surrounding towns and villages, many are a lot better than MK, and in some cases are a lot cheaper.

well maybe, but on the other hand, Olney's distance from milton keynes includes a fair bit of country roads as I recall, and Olney is right on the border between beds/bucks/n'hants rather than being near CMK. It's not exactly worlds apart from MK but its not "in" MK by any means.

Oh and Bedford has a MK4x postcode range too, and that's not even in the same county.
