Barclaycard and Tesco Credit card- same company?

Hello everyone.

I have a very good credit rating and currently have a barclaycard 0% until January with around 1k on it, Im paying off the minimum as have been jumping from 0% to 0% for a couple of years.

Now I have no other choice to take out another 0% credit card to pay for some things which are urgent and unavoidable.

I have been looking at the tesco 15 month 0% on purchases.

I cant seem to see who is behind the tesco card, ie is Barclaycard a different company than the company behind tesco credit card? so I could transfer the old balance to the new card?

Different companies.

One is called Barclays Bank. The other is called Tesco Bank (100% owned by the supermarket).

Is it not in partnership with RBS who always issued the cards, and do currently service them?

Tesco Bank does not have a banking licence yet does it, does it?

Same as Sainsburys Bank. Just resells other peoples products with the supermarkets name on.

So can I just confirm that if I needed to transfer those balances together, I potentially could? Bit confused now!

I believe Tesco cc is from RBS as it says on my credit report

Yea Sainsbury is HBOS issued and Morrisons is HSBC issued, Tesco is RBS issued and Asda is Santander (ex GE Money) issued.

Well they were last I knew.

Tesco Bank is 100% owned by Tesco.

Tesco Bank was launched in 1997 as a joint venture between Tesco and The Royal Bank of Scotland. In 2008, Tesco acquired the remaining 50% RBS shareholding for £950m and Tesco Bank is now fully owned by Tesco plc.

Sainsburys Bank is 50% owned by LBG, but operates under its own banking licence.

maybe so but they still work in partnership and the tesco card is issued by rbs. I know because I have a friend who works for them in southend-on-sea!
