After mooching all over online trading in sites, I've had a quote from CeX online for £18 cash via bank transfer so I'm sending it off to them. Everyone else online (bar amazon for 'store credit') was offering about £10-£13. They also did £22 as trade in which considering I only bought it new for £24 is pretty good!
Have to pay for my own postage but considering that'll be a couple quid it'll still be a much better profit. :)

    Not a bad return that!

    Budget time!

    Food £60.00
    Petrol £25.00
    Social £10.00
    School dinners £21.00
    Dance £20.00
    Bills £268.75

    total out £404.75
    total £481.68
    surplus to CC £76.93

One thing I have noticed doing my budgets is that my house insurance has jumped a few quid (was £6 odd, but now £9.). I remember it being due to renewal but I obviously forgot about it and it's automatically run over and increased. Going to have a look at whether it's worth switching as I used to pay about £4pm for my contents insurance so it's increased a hell of a lot over the past couple of years. Ok, slight exagerration, as a jump of £5 isn't that massive... but still!!

Anyway, I'll be chuffed with an extra £76.93 (Plus the £18 from CeX) off the card this week as it'll bring it uner £600 and will look much healthier! :)
Looking forward to payday as well when I'll be able to hopefully pay another big chuck off it. Estimate so far (dependant on nursery fees, when my car tax is due and stuff is around £180-£200 hopefully as I think it's a free month for council tax next month which will help too! Obviously I'll know more later in the month once I get my nursery/holiday club bills through.

It's my youngest's birthday at the end of the month, so the last week in January's spare money will be spent on her present and having a day out or something. I've got some free tickets to a local big playbarn thing (Where grown ups can go in the equipment too! Yeeeea.) and she wants a new bike (Expecting about £50 or so as she wants one of these properly girlie things with a doll seat on the back! lol).

Despite that though I reckon I'll have made a big dent in the card by the end of January, and be able to pay off the last bit in February before starting on CC2 .

Forgot to mention that I think my 12 month sky HD contract is up the end of this month, so I'll be looking to have the HD removed and reduce my bill and extra £10. I still have Disney cinemagic for the girls which they don't seem to watch that much anymore, so might look at getting rid of that also, but it's only £5pm and considering the amount of movies they watch and amount of money we would spend in renting movies from blockbuster I don't think it's that bad really. Will have a think about it. The HD is definitely going though. I really don't see the point!

Edit: email to sky requesting to cancel the HD from the end of January sent. Will update when I get a response!

The best I've ever done for contents insurance is -£6 for the year. Yup - that's a minus. Quidco a gogo...

You mean it has more than doubled. That's a hell of a lot in my book.

Will have to have a look then!

True, I guess that's the problem, a fiver a month doesn't sound like much but in real terms it is!

You clearly don't know my youngest very well :rotfl:

  • Quick update before I disappear off for a bath to relax after street class!

Today I posted need for speed, which cost £2.73 recorded delivery. I reused some packaging I already had to managed to keep the cost low as possible.
Out of my £10 dance budget today I spent £4 on dance, but I didn't go to the bodytone class this week as my friend couldn't make it and I had to pay to send the game which was £2.73, and the rest was spent on £2 on 'snack money' that apparently I owe school for a half term of my youngest having biscuits and juice as a snack(?). I had a £1 coin and some odd change left over so that £1 has gone in the super secret pot. :)

Forgot to say that I didn't spend anything Monday, and don't need to spend anything tomorrow either. I'm definitely getting better with my NSDs!

  • Evening all!

Today was a no spend day. Hurrah! I also got the chance to make a brand new excel spreadsheet for my spending diary so I can review everything easier instead of having to read back on here. It even tots up the total spend and an average :D I do love my spreadsheets. I'm such a nerd.

I've gone on it and updated everything from 1st Jan onwards. So far this month I've spent £111.83 at an average of £10.16 (this includes petrol/food..). That's quite scary to look at when you think that were only 11 days in! It does include petrol/food though so I don't think that's too bad at all :)

Have had an extra expense come through the post though. Apparently the photo on my driving licence needs renewing and I have to pay £20 for the priviledge. Damn. It's not due til the 13th Feb though so I'll do it when I get paid.
I also have the dentist at the end of the month and now have to pay, so have an extra £17 for that plus the £20 for my driving licence to add to my monthly bills budget. Bum.

    Spending diary update:

I've bought the JLS album (the shame) as we're doing one of the tracks in street class along with 'Papi' by JLO (and will be likely to end up being exam pieces).
Taking it out of my social budget so out of £10 I've now spent £5.49 for JLS and 89p for the JLO track.

Also updated on my excel spreadsheet :D

  • I've been to cash4clothes. £5.19 I got, plus I have a random 20p in my purse, that's going to be an extra £5.39 off the credit card for little effort :) well, I say little effort. Can you count 3 hours of sorting out your children's room?

  • Tonight is food shopping/petrol night. I have a budget of £60 for my food and £25 for my petrol.
Going to make dinner and do my shopping list while I'm at it. Will update later with the results and final result on how much I'll be paying off the credit card tomorrow.

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Nothing to add to the spending diary for non food/petrol spends today though, and that won't change after I've been to the shop either. I'm on a mission! :D
