Southern Water changed payment date with no notice

I have just checked my account and found Southern Water have taken the direct debit payment 2 days early, they have not given me any notice they were going to do this and were lucky there was money in the account really (could have caused all sorts of problems otherwise), I will be ringing them tomorrow as they cannot just do that surely!
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.

I am with Southern Water and noticed that they took another payment off me today when the usual comes out of my bank around the first or second of the month. I rang them up and they said it was a mistake on their behalf and the money would be refunded within 24 hrs.
Hope this helps but it might be worth givin them a quick ring0
