Combi & 4 Rads Quote

Just bought a house, it has a boiler already installed (one that just does the hot water, comes on when you open the tap) There are no radiators in the house at all.

I am looking at installing a combi and having 4 rads fitted, 1 in each room.

Could this be done on £2000????

Cheers!

£2,000 is probably not far out of the ball park though near the bottom end of the ball park.

Pricing it up yourself you could probably pick up most of the materials for about £1,000. Though check it out for yourself, go down B&Q and get the prices of the rads, you can roughly work out from the position of the rads how much copper pipe.

Fitting a new system is quite labour intensive and thats mostly what you will be paying for. If you can do some of the work yourself, eg purchasing the rads, mounting them on the walls where you want them, pulling floorboards to give the plumber access for the pipework then you will be cutting labour time down.

There's also not a lot to learning how to make your own plumbing joints then you can (with a bit of advice) do all the pipework and just leave the boiler to the plumber. (buy a book, practice with a bunch of joints and pipe). The satisfaction about achieving something like this is truly great and its moneysaving to boot.
  • It all depends on what you want, you can buy a heat pack from B&Q, however, the boilers are not the best, and there are less and less Corgi reg installers who are willing to install them, as they inevitably break down.

Depending on where you live £2000 could get you a good, efficient boiler, rads and labour.

    Where abouts are you?
