Talk mobile high deposit for reconnection

Hello,

I missed 2 payments on my contract with talk mobile. Rang up to clear the balance, but have been informed that the account is disconnected.

Talk mobile gave me 2 options. Pay £200 deposit( which I can get back after 6 months) or pay off the contract(doesn't expire till 2013) to leave them.

I am prepared to pay a deposit, but feel that £200 is very high. Is there anyway to dispute this?

On a side note, I never received any correspondence stating that the account was overdue.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

They want the deposit because of your severe memory problem...ie forgetting to pay....
What happens the next time you "forget"?

6 months isnt that bad, some would want it for 12. You are high risk hence the deposit, you say you didnt recieve anything but didnt you ring to query why no bills or payments....
