Signed up for points on pigsback. Now have 3 books. It says all books are sent to me on a 10 day trial (thinking great, send them back etc). But in the small print it says that if you cancel your membership before fufilling your membership agreement (purchase 4 more books) they will charge you the full RRP of the books they have sent. Yet they are asking me to activate my membership online or by phone? Am I a member??? How do I cancel??

If they are asking you to activate your membership then it means that you are not a member until you do.
Write and tell them to stop this harassment or you will seek legal advice.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

Did you ask for the books? Are they going to charge you for sending them back?
If they appeared out of the blue, write them a nice letter or email (there's a copy of my letter to another company, though I think they all come under the same "umbrella"), saying that if they want the books back, they can come and get them."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

If you return all the books, then you can cancel there and then.
But if you keep any of them, then you've started your membership and do really need to complete the minimum purchases (unless of course you want to pay them full price for the introductory parcel).
Phone/write/email them and they should send you a returns label if you want to cancel the account.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Read the Mango Books thread, if the books are unsolicited, you are under NO OBLIGATION to send them back. I got this advice from Trading Standards."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
