i know some dorric words as hubby worked in aberdeen and angus and sometimes say them to confuse me :rotfl:
some of the words are totally foreign but i recognise some as staying in fife and the dialect is a little similar.

Reading through this is brilliant - I can hear the words, it's lovely!
I'm a born and bred North East quine but I got a skelpit lug if ah didnae spik proper so most people wouldn't know it. However, I can keep up with the best of them, even if they speak extra-fast to catch me out! I hope doric stays strong because it's a brilliant dialect, and I think it sounds great in conversation. Also great entertainment watching tourists smiling and nodding with a slight look of incomprehension when being given directions! :rotfl:0 -
i love the doric too eels, my neighbour used to get the leopard magazine which was for the north east, it features norman harper who used to write in the press and journal and buff hardie, i used to love seeing buff and the other two on the telly, they were really good0
