    No, they did not ship any drivers with the computer. I have sent them an e-mail chasing them up, so hopefully they will reply soon. Sent it over 24 hrs ago, with no reply yet.

    Did you actually try the CTRL F11, at boot..? Surprised it's not on there..

    Just need to check, did you delete all the partitions when you re-installed XP ?

    Have you looked in the BIOS - the restore options can be turned off .... and the sound card

    Did you try the Service Tag number on the Dell site ?
    Rich people save then spend.

    I put my service Tag onto the Dell's site and tried all the drivers listed. None of them have worked. searching Google others have the same problem, and have no ideas either. yes, the partitions were deleted and re made. Howeverr, i have checked the bios and the sound is enabled.

    I had the same problem too.

    Got fed up in the end and bought a much better sound card from ebuyer for about £10. Life's too short!
