    Hi Sheddy49

I work for Vodafone and may be able to help.

I've just tried what your doing, and was able to assign a ringtone to an individual person without any problems (assigned 1 to my number, and rang it, personal tone went off).
The way I did it was by going into the phonebook and editing the contact, then assigned a personal ID.
If that's how your doing it and it isn't working, it's more than likely your handset has a software fault on it and will need taking into your local Vodafone store.

I've included a link to our store locator incase you need it. Store locator

    Hope this helps
