happy bunny and todge - I sent my email to ceo email address on the morning of the 23rd and Ive heard nothing - no letter, no autoresponder or no email! Will update as soon as I hear something.
Is it worth sending it onto the complaints address?0 -
I seriously doubt it I'm afraid.
Nothing in the post yesterday. Ten days and counting before the eight weeks is up.0 -
fairydust30 i sent my email to the ceo address on 22/02/2012 and got my standard letter on friday 24th so will probably get yours early this week. i didnt get an auto response at all and the letter states it will take some time to get a response one way or the other so think its a case of being patient for now0

Does anyone know if there is a case for making a claim under these circumstances? I know its a long shot but maybe they could compensate for the stress?
Doesn't sound like it on the same basis as the complaints on this thread. How long after the hike did you pay it off? Might be worth a complaint if you can prove the hike disadvantaged you in some way:beer:0 -
This thread has been most enlightening,
Hopefully I am not too late as some of the replys seem to imply that Santander are 'drying up' with the pay-outs.
I sent my email of complaint today (22nd Feb) to CEO and hopefully i will be able to report back some good news in the very near future.
Just one query.
My loan was taken out as a joint loan. If they do pay up will the cheque be in both names?
As we no longer have a joint account I would have trouble cashing it. Or will they just address the cheque to the primary name on account. i.e. mine?
Good luck with your claims everyone.
Recieved standard reply letter on Sat (25th) dated the 23rd.
So they were on it straight away.
Here's hoping....
BTW, did any one else have a joint loan to answer my querie on who the settlement cheque is paid to??
Thaks in advance to all of you -this forum has been sooooo helpful.0 -

.
Don't get your hopes up. At one stage it was as easy as shelling peas, but as you will see looking back the last payment recorded was well over a week ago and the only two decisions since then have been rejections.
I would presume that the resolution letter would include information about how any refund is paid, but as I say, expect the worst.0 -
Hi...
Does anyone know if the 8 weeks response is from the date your initial complaint was lodged or from the date you received the confirmation by mail?
My initial complaint was lodged on 12th January and I received confirmation by email on 13th January (from Denise - Executive Compliants Team) that they would look into it, and to allow 21 days for a response.
I then received a letter from Santander on the 27th January confirming they were in receipt of my complaint and that they would be looking into it - no mention of a time frame for completion.
Thanks0 -
My dates are exactly the same as yours kel.
I am taking it as 8 weeks from the date the complaint was made, but as the acknowledgement was the next day it's neither here nor there.
To allow for post etc I will allow them until a week on Saturday, a little over 8 weeks.
Sadly the 8 weeks doesn't mean much really. What can we do if we don't get a response? It won't play well in front of the FOS, I appreciate, but that would involve a long drawn out process, so it's not as if there is any real short term remedy.
My guess, given how quiet it has all gone, is that they're reviewing the whole thing, especially in light of the fact that MSE gave the matter a national airing by way of their article last week.0 -
Thanks Cell.
I'm hoping that because we were reasonably early in the process (seems hundreds more have applied since we did) that our cases will have a positive outcome.
I'm trying to refrain from contacting Santander until after the 8 weeks have passed in the hope that by leaving them alone they will look at my case (as I'm not bothering them) and go for a refund!
Fingers crossed!0 -
18th February - no idea when the complaint was submitted as this is the one and only post on the subject by Percy.Received our response from Santander today. As others have stated they cant find anything that would suggest they made an error but as a gesture of goodwill they will recalculate the loan. Loan recalculated from 1st April 2004 (they state this is the date of the first rate rise) to date of calculation which is 13 January 2012 (our complaint was sent on 6th Jan).
This clears our balance outstanding and they have also sent a chq for just over £50.
I cannot thank the op enough and also happy bunny and anybody else who has contributed to this thread.
Hang on in there anybody who is still waiting to hear...i am certain it will be positive news.0
