Wow just logged on to see how people are getting on with their refunds only to read about these knock backs !
There doesn't seem to be any uniformity in how these complaints are being treated or processed.
I received my offer letter on 11/02/2012 and they said that the credit would be applied with 5 - 10 working days , it was in fact credited 4 days later (kept checking my credit report)

I really hope to be reading some success stories soon !!

Just looking back at your posts your e-mail was 5th January, a week before mine, and your letter was dated 12th February.

Mine was sent on 12th January and I've not received 'the letter'l. As of last Friday they told me that my complaint wasn't resolved.

I admit I've given up hope, because I think that Santander have bitten off more than they can chew, and this is now much bigger now it's gone 'viral'.

That doesn't mean I won't take them through the FOS if I am knocked back of course. There have been too many 'ex-gratias' for them to quote 'without prejudice'. It just might take a long time, and a possible class action (or at least consistent approach amongst those turned down) to resolve.

Nothing in the post today, and certainly no phone call.

Thanks for your comment:). It isn't the time that I'm so bothered about just that I'd like to know one way or another.

I was slowly building my hopes up but the two rejections have now befuddled me.

I like certainty and consistency in life. I have neither lol.

I was going to email them with my account number as I have cahoot flei loan dating back to 2003, but I reckon I'll send a CCA request first, in case they knock it back and I have to go to the FSO.

Cheers to all contributors for some great work!

They will probably have a copy. They had mine from 2001 as well as my c card from the same time.

What if I don't have any paperwork? I'm pretty sure we had a flexi loan with Cahoot during this period, but if I remember rightly I accessed the account on-line.

You don't need paperwork. Just send them a general complaint based on my template. They can find you from your address at the time and dob. Also, if less than 6 years it will be on your credit report.
