sent email two days ago 22-02-12 and recieved standard reply letter today to say they are looking into it but may take time. Not expecting too much from word of knock backs recieved but will take it all the way if have too. And the fact i have read it costs santander money if i take it to financial ombudsman is of course a sweetner as i think that company have had its own way for far too long. will keep posted but hopefully people will start to have some more success stories soon0

emailed on 23rd early morning - NOTHING yet no letter or auto response to email sent to ceo address. In fact I think this thread seems to have gone a little quiet. Suppose we're all just waiting for responses eh?0

I had a cahoot flexi loan but not sure when I took it out, the only paper work I have left is my settlement letter dated 13 march 2007. I couldn't see an end to this loan so i took out a fixed loan from another bank to pay it off and thankfully that loan was paid off a couple of years ago and i've been debt free ever since. I have no details apart from my account number, the amount left to pay (over £4000) and the date it was paid off, does anyone know if I have a claim, and if so can someone give me a link to a template please0

You have as much a claim as anyone else with a Cahoot loan - there's nothing to lose!
Last template letter is on p32.
Can't believe how big this thread has become! Well done to all those who have managed to get refunds.Barclaycard - £1251 reclaimed

Hello, just joined forum and need advice on this matter please.
Cahoot loan taken out in 2003 for approx 12000 at approx 6.5%
Overpayments made and then borrowed back over time. Final ammount when I had to enter into a debt management plan with cccs about 2 years ago was for approx 10000 at 19%.
CCCS managed to get interest frozen and am now making payments regularly and monthly directly to Santander. (In other words, not CCCS client anymore, just dealing with them directly).
My question is will I be eligible to have my interest over the time ffrom 2003 to 2010 adjusted upto when i entered a dmp and had interest frozen or am i best leaving well alone?
outstanding amount 8800.
any advice much appreciated.
many thanks
I think you have the same chance as anyone else. Your DMP should not cause issues in my opinion:beer:0 -
Thanks Happy Bunny, appreciate the encouragement.
I've emailed the ceo address using the basis of your letter template and adjusted it to mention my dmp agreement, asking them to recalculate the outstanding balance to help me reduce the debt further (as obviously i am taking responsibility for my debts and trying to get it paid off). I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation.
Will let you know if I'm successful.
Thanks again and fingers x'd for everyone else as well!0 -
I, like others have now received the standard letter reply.
I'm going to keep my fingers crossed but if necessary I will get the financial ombudsman involved.
Goodwill or no goodwill, they can't have goodwill to one and not another surely, whether they accept liability or not?0 -
I sent an email on 23rd with help from Happy Bunny, but no response yet, how long does it normally take to get one0

I also had one of these loans and, when they hiked my rate, I was lucky enough to be able to borrow money from my mum to pay it off. The problem was that I then had years of the pressure of being in debt to a family member who made constant reminders that the debt was owing.
Does anyone know if there is a case for making a claim under these circumstances? I know its a long shot but maybe they could compensate for the stress?GC: Jan £118.67/£175
