Who shall I choose for broadband?

I have been with Aol since 1998 and on the whole they have always given me good offers and have been cheaper than anyone else. Mainly because BT owned my exchange and no one else could put their equipment in there. But the exchange has been upgraded this month.
BT have offered me a deal for phone and internet, so I called Aol and they will beat the deal by £2 incl line rental, so once again I could stay.
I have 6 users in my family so we need unlimited download...
I also want a better router than this D-link piece of junk that does not reach every room on wireless.
Any suggestions for unlimited internet and phone around £20 month?

if the wireless range is the only problem then that can be very easily solved with a new wireless router rather than switching provider.
Given fair usage limits there isnt anyone that is truly unlimited. Personally have used Plus Net for a long time, now on their fibre offering, with almost no problems and the couple there have been they have handled perfectly fine. They do limit daytime use, though for a reasonable price you can get a very high usage but then overnight is stated as unlimited.0 -

I am in a similar position to you with being with aol since 1998. Do you mean that aol can now offer line rental once the exchange has been upgraded?
What will they charge you for phone, broadband and line rental?
Thanks0 -

Yes. They are offering me full phone and Broadband with line rental for just over £20. £2 cheaper than BT. But BT are giving away a free router that they say is the best on the market and Mc Afee cover. But what happens everytime is that I call aol for a MAC code, they offer me a better deal and I stay...
Perhaps with the exchange upgrade I can use anyone now and not rely on BT providing services to other providers?NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
So what are the LLU options on your exchange?

BE Broadband (if available on your exchange) do their Unlimited plan for £22 per month, but this does not include line rental. Yes there is a FUP, but they truly are unlimited - there is NO throttling or limits at all. The only people ever to be pulled up on their usage have been those using their connections to send SPAM. NOONE has been pulled up for download/upload usage.
However I suspect they'll be too expensive for what you're looking at. But the old adage holds true - you get what you pay for.

You should check out Sky. £10/month for BB Unlimited and talk, + line rental at £12.25/month (or £119.40 up front for 12 months.)
If you have Sky TV you get £2.50 / month discount of the above prices. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Agree, Sky is the only sensible LLU option you have there. No free lunch, and no free laptop
