Whatever you decide to do you absolutely must tell your insurance company about this, even if you don't claim from them.

However, if you are claiming for the windows through your insurance company, you might end up finding your premiums jacked up next year anyway.

What makes you think it is more than vandalism?
Some days I wake up Grumpy ... Other days I let him lie in.

Well, kids tend to smash a window or scratch a car, but to stand there doing all the windows and slashing the tyres seems a bit more determined and personal doesnt it. (My youngest boys tyres were slashed by an ex girlfriend :() Did any other cars get touched?

Thanks so much guys for all your advice!

The police were phoned immediately after the damage was found, and, this morning, my daughter telephoned the approved glass repair company attached to her insurance, and they said as the car is deemed as unsecure, they will come and replace both the windows for £65 each today PHEW!!

The guys at our local tyre company are a really decent bunch, and they are going to replace all her tyres for a really good price.

If you use the approved glass repairer, for £65 each it sounds like they will claim for the cost from your insurers, and may even be making two claims, rather then one, by the fact you're paying two excesses.

So be careful before you let them start work, as it does sound like two hits to the ncd here.

(For the record, I'm paying £75 for a screen for a peugeot 106, from a small company, the big places wanted about twice that)

It all worked out ok ... The glass repairer ended up charging £65 for two windows, so it was seen as one claim. He said any repairs to glass will have no impact at all on her NCD
