'til the next time.
If we don't hear from Sibley (and his sword) in the next 24 hours, let's hope he's OK.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

Housepricecrash.............yes they did and are still falling.
Mission accomplished:)
Well they were supposed to fall from 2004 prices - at the time they weren't talking about "real" prices. Accepting that they are falling where you are but that sounds about as attractive as Chernoybyl.0 -

I think this would be considered a milestone in HPC history.
In 2004 the average price of a house according to Nationwide was £148k.
There were predictions of large falls in nominal value.
Prices went to £184k before going back to near the 2004 level but not below.
Many people on the basis of these predictions sold their properties ready to jump back into the market when the crash came.
Since then HO's have paid off nearly seven years of their mortgage (and rates are at an all time low - especially if you owned in 2004).
There are some commodities in which they could have invested their equity but they would have to have been very luck and savvy to have beaten HPI, mortgage repayment, low interest payments, security of tenure and inflation to have done better than an HO.0 -
Whenever I went over there it had a sad little banner ad at the top inviting me to invest in Bulgarian property. Maybe that wasn't enough to keep them in business.0

If it weren't for the fact that Creditcrunch had 63 visitors (but only 6 members!) visiting tonight perhaps the advertisers would pull the plug on that too.
Look forward to the HPCers popping onto Cc to see how proper moderation works.0
