Back up now, pleased to see that my threads still command the front page. Can't be long before Marks and Sparks realise that the figures for traffic are provided by the people they pay to run the site (no conflict there then)......

    or even the Mail.
House prices can be notoriously volatile on a month to month basis and there are often significant fluctuations around a trend. So October’s jump in prices does little to change our view that house prices are headed down over the coming months and are likely to fall by 5 per cent from current levels by mid-2012

Well not actually The Mail. A quote from Howard Archer from IHS Global Insight - is he likely to be right?

Here is what Howard said in Sep 10:
We suspect that house prices could fall by around 10% between now and the end of 2011. Much will obviously depend on how well the economy holds up as the fiscal squeeze increasingly kicks in, mortgage availability and the amount of houses coming on to the market.

    and in Oct 2008:
Global insight have further revised down their house price forecasts to show a fall of 15% in 2009.

Well, I am another that has just been moderated out of housepricecrash for daring to question the guru Brucebanner. I merely queried that the fact he was paying well below market value rent might be skewing his viewpoint and that for others it might be pertinent to buy rather than rent. Next post I made. 'This post will require moderator approval'. As the post never appeared in half an hour I assume I am effectively banned.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha ... they must be really sick today with such a massive increase in house prices .... and watching ANOTHER months rent disappear never to be seen again in their lifetimes :D

Just to add that with Halifax, Nationwide and Land Registry coming out each month since the HPC site was commissioned they have now seen in excess of 250 monthly reports. The number of positives massively outnumber the number of negatives. :T
