Guys, when do you start to put up your decorations? For me, its the first day of Advent...thats tomorrow, but I think its a tad early. Think I'll leave it until Tuesday as it takes a few days to put them all up! :D

We don't put ours up until a few weeks before, we have a real tree so have to leave it a bit later so that it doesn't die before New Year lol :rotfl:
Although the kids do put their little bedroom trees up 1st December when we get the advents out :rudolf:

Another 10 items on ebay, 31 on there now! Never had so many items listed at once lol :j

Nearly 'Saturday night wine night' girlies :D :j

    xx

£7.50 total for this week, so pretty pleased with this month :)

We have to compromise in our house between those who want to put the decorations up as early as possible and those who want to leave it as long as possible! This year I think we're putting them up on the 8th, which is the Feastday of the Immaculate Conception, or the 6th, which is St. Nicholas's Day, because we're having the loft insulated and we need to shift the artificial Christmas tree from there beforehand. Personally, I'd like to leave it quite late- when we were kids, Mum and Dad would put the tree up on Christmas Eve once we were all in bed, and it was amazing coming downstairs on Christmas morning to find the tree with all the presents :D
:) Optima semper libera sunt :)

no wine, and was insulted in hairdressers while getting DS' haircut :(

he thought I was DS' Nan or something..... his exact words.

think I need to seriously think about losing weight :(

although saying that, I had DS very late... in my late thirties.

Aww, Aesop! :( How awful ((hugs)). I'm not suggesting that you need to lose weight or change in any way (some people are just silly and inconsiderate), but if you are unhappy with yourself then now's a great time to start thinking about doing something about it as New Year is just around the corner :).

I had a similar experience last year, and although it was just a silly throw away comment, it made me realise that I wasn't happy with my size, so I joined one of the weight loss threads on here on 2nd Jan (was waayyy too hungover on the 1st! :rotfl:) - 'new year, new me' and all that, lol. I've still got quite a way to go, but doing something about it does help you feel a lot more positive about yourself.

I hope this doesn't sound preachy or anything, just trying to put a positive slant on things :).

So this Amazon trade in stuff...it isn't up to much, is it?

I followed this link, which doesn't specifically talk about just text books or games - http://www.amazon.co.uk/b?ie=UTF8&node=696229031 and out of 3 banana boxes full of books...not a single one is on there. There's apparently 95,000 titles in paperbacks so I'm not very impressed.

How were you searching for them to check?
I found that when I put the number in or the title, it told me you couldn't trade it in. I did this for a big pile of books.
However I then saw someone here (sorry I can't remember who :o) say that if you just search for it as if you were going to buy it, then on the right hand side, near where you have the option to sell yours etc, there is a little option for Trade In.
Doing it this way however I found I actually could trade quite a few of them in. Worth double checking that way if you have only done it the first way already.
