I suspect £550 may be the maximum cash balance allowable on the account.

With 2 lots of fees and cash interest to boot? That's expensive borrowing...for both yourself and your 'friend'.

Short of standing at a bar all night and taking cash off strangers and buying their drinks on your card, there isnt much you can do. If £500 cash is the limit for the card there aint no way round it.

On the plus side is Friday night so bars will be busy. On the negative side you'll look desperate, and liable to get beaten up - not desirable when people know you have wads of cash in your pocket.
  • I remember one time I had a Capital One card and of the 12k limit, only 25% was available as a cash advance. Cahoot was the same I seem to remember. The RBS went that way as well.
