I used to work for RBS credit cards, you had a cash limit on there but never the amount of he credit limit. Its also extortionate interest rates and if you withdraw it at a cash machine you may get a cash handling fee (typically 2.5%)

We used to get cash back by going to a certain pub, they would do cash back but ring it through their card machine asthough it was a purchase. So if you know anyone who has a business that will run it through their machines (could be classed as money laundering though :P) or alterntively start hitting a few of your local pubs nd get the maximum cash back on each order, you might be a bit drunk though by the time youve got a grand.

Hmmmm, know anybody you trust with a Paypal account? Could open your own account, send them a payment and transfer that to their bank account so they can withdraw it. Whole process would take maybe a week or more, as the card etc. would have to be confirmed first and I think Paypal fees are 5%-ish. Using Western Union in a similar fashion might work and that would probably be faster...
