Had a really nice time on holiday. We all thoroughly enjoyed and the Boys were in their element with all the activities, children's shows and swimming. And like me as a child, they love staying in a Caravan
.
DS1 (6 years old) provided a few comedy moments when he asked questions such as "Where is the middle of nowhere?" and upon hearing a Woodpecker asked "Is that an actual Woodpecker or a pecker of wood?" !!!:rotfl:
The holiday wasn't very MSE – but we had planned for this – as DS2 is now at the age where he no longer gets into attractions/days out for free, which proved to be quite costly by the time we paid for admission, food and gift shop treats.
All back to normal now and have spent all afternoon washing clothes and sorting out the bags.
Once the housework was done, I did the usual shuffling of money that I do on the 1st of the month. I didn't do this when away as I am new to mobile banking and still a little weary of how safe it is.0 -
Hi SD glad you had a great time, like you I was shocked at admission prices to things but you're there and want the kids to have a good time so have to bite the bullet, and even it up with a bit of MSE thinking, we had packed lunches two days and made use of the pool on the site.Start Date 16/09/2015

Yes, we made use of the pool as it was the only activity on the caravan park that was free
. We took packed lunches with us for some of the trips and had a combination of eating out and cooking in caravan. It was all good though and helps to build memories for the children

I’ve not posted for a while but I am happy to be back! I have had a busy month or so and a lot has happened. Also, my Mortgage Overpayment Mojo has returned
.
I’ve been making additional monthly overpayments of £250 which makes total monthly payments to the mortgage as £1,000. This has reduced the term by another month to October 2021 (4 years and 3 months earlier than original end date). At this rate the mortgage should be under £50,000 by the end of July - depending on the amount of interest applied.
I’ve been very busy with work and College and I had confirmation this week that I have passed my AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. Unfortunately, due to cuts in FE funding at my local College they are not able to offer AAT Level 3 in September, so I am planning to go on to study an ACCA course in September.
I had a job interview last week (my first interview in years and the first interview in a different sector). I didn’t get the job, I came 2nd but I had very positive feedback and the recruitment agency are pleased with the feedback they got from their client. I am so happy about this and hopefully an opportunity will come up soon to change career.

That is so exciting. I can't wait until our mortgage is below £50,000. Unfortunately as we've only recently gone lower than £60,000, it's not going to be during this mortgage year!
It's great to hear that you've passed your AAT level 2 and I hope that the transition to ACCA is smooth.
Good job with the interview too. I hope the agency find you something you like soonOld Mortgage: [STRIKE]2009:£78500 2010:£76951.71 2011:£74414.49 2012:£71961.35 2013:£67813.54 2014:£64375.16 Current: £55,480.27[/STRIKE]

Thanks Tilly. DH is still in his job - been there over two years now and he is still an Agency employee, but this is common for the type of work/industry he is in. His employers have put him on further training so that he has more feathers to his cap (so to speak). He is enjoying the job and hoping to be taken on permanently some time this year. In hindsight, being made redundant was the best thing that happened to him
