Mortgage Balance = £0

Car has been in the garage. Good news is that there is nothing wrong with the clutch/clutch pedal, bad news is that I needed another wheel bearing and the handbrake needed adjusting. It cost £48, so not as expensive as I had anticipated.
£158.18 interest added to the mortgage this month (£1 less than last month). Due to offsetting this is equivalent to an overpayment of £91 and is an increase of £15 compared to last month.0 -
That's not bad at all sweetdaisy - Guess all our fingers crossed worked!

Sorry, I'm a dunce - can you explain what you mean by this...
Anyway, sounds like good news, so I'll give you one of these :TM3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -

Hi BlueMoo
We have an Offset mortgage, where we get to reduce the mortgage term by paying less interest as we increase our Savings into the Offset accounts/make overpayments towards the mortgage.
I have an Excel spreadsheet that works out our daily, monthly and annual interest. So when my monthly interest gets added to the mortgage, I pay less interest than the spreadsheet calculates (as it's an Offset account), so this is like making an overpayment without having to physically make a payment IYSWIM.

Glad the car wasn't an expensive fix....0

The Christmas tree and decorations are up, the boys have posted their letters to Sion Corn (Father Christmas in Welsh) and all presents have been wrapped. Got a few busy weekends ahead doing Christmassy things with the children, so if there are any weekly under spends (which I doubt), it will be going into savings :xmassmile.
BT Line Rental Saver of £141 has been paid for the year. Redeemed from YouGov, so £25 paid to the mortgage and £25 paid into savings.
My car is back in the garage tomorrow as the back windscreen wipers have decided to stop working.

I know, everything seems to be going wrong at the same time , maybe it's because Christmas is around the corner. Luckily, it only cost £10 to be fixed.
On a brighter note, DH has two days overtime this week which will come in handy.0 -
A few months ago I queried with our Water company why our monthly payments were being reduced by £20 a month. I was informed that previous water meter readings had been estimated, so our payments were adjusted. Fast forward to Friday, received a water statement to say that we have only used 1 cubic meter of water since May 2013! I know that I am very good at reducing water wastage, but I am not that good :rotfl: . I contacted the Water company as I don't want to end up owing a lot of money to them and a new water meter is going to be installed shortly. There was a credit of £137 on my account but that is now going to be used towards my new bill (when it's calculated).
Aside from that, I had a lovely weekend - took the children to a Christmas party at DS2's Nursery and then went on a Steam Train to see Father Christmas :xmassmile.0
