Goodness, two years! Great progress - and as time goes on and more of your money is going to capital repayments rather than interest I'm sure you'll manage to knock even more off :j
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Thanks Tilly and Gallygirl :).

This year I feel that the Offset mortgage is really starting to work for us, as we are noticing a reduction in our interest which adds to us reducing the term. I am also putting more money into the Offset Savings account, so that we have a safety net in place should DH get laid off from work, or if I face redundancy.

Had the week off work for the Half Term and it's been a busy week. Back in work on Monday.

Glossed all skirting boards and door frames downstairs. Just need to do the doors now, as they are looking Yellow against the newly glossed door frames. It takes such a long time to dry, I will probably have to paint them in the evening after the children go to bed, so that they don't leave little finger prints everywhere :D.

Did some Christmas :xmassmile shopping and wrapped some presents. I have almost completed the Christmas shopping. Got a few more bits and bobs to get, but I have a rough idea of what to buy.

The heating has been turned on. I put it on on Wednesday as it was quite chilly in the morning, but not had it on much since, as the house hasn't felt cold.

We went to a Spooky Halloween Disco with the children yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed.

We start November with a mortgage balance of £67,756. Made an overpayment of £17 to the mortgage today. DH has been paid, so moved money between the accounts.
  • Busy Busy Busy! Going great guns with the mortgage and decorating too!? I keep looking at our hallway and got as far bringing the decorating stuff down from the garage, but not had the enthusiasm to do it yet......you're putting me to shame here Daisy!

well done on your progress. I keep thinking if I had kept up with it each time, I would be further along than I am now. Still I'll keep plodding.

:rotfl: I moved all the painting stuff from the garage to the cupboard under the stairs, so that every time I went in there it was starting at me! I love the new gleaming skirting boards, I just have to get motivated and start painting the rest of house as it needs a touch-up. However, it is so hard to do with the children in the house due to the smell of paint/gloss and having them touching wet paint. I may paint the porch next weekend . . .
