i really cannot fathom out what has happened, according to bt wholesale they were going to clear my line yesterday, it has been ear marked for a week. any way checked this morning and it wasnt done, phoned them they said it was a bit of a mess and would phone me back, well i could not wait, got a stroppy person who basically said that it wasnt her job to explain to me why and that i should talk to sky, i could not get her to understand that sky order the tags to be taken off and they never did it or they only did half of it and will do the other half next week, anyone know who actually does it sky say its bt , bt say its sky but someone must really know, they are still going to call me back just dont know when, so now i have to wait till the 31st then order another provider so it will now be another 2 weeks

Sky place the order to remove the service off the line. As they provide their ADSL via LLU (ie. their own equipment).
BT Wholesale wouldnt be able to do much as they dont own the equipment at the exchange. The most they'll be able to do is advise & pass on information, they wont actually be able to raise any cease orders for that service!
If you've any more questions give me a shout0 -
so who does take the tags off, you see we only had the connect service with sky, i dont know if that is llu i just want to know what i am talking about before they phone me, so sky place an order with bt wholesale to putor take broadband on or off my line so then what does bt wholesale do0

Well Sky provide their service via the local loop (LLU) which in other words is their own equipment. As far as 'Tags' go its a broad term, what you have is a broadband service on there with sky, that isnt classed as a 'tag', its a legitimate service.
So you would need to get Sky to raise the cancellation orders & then they would use BT Openreach (BT's engineering division) to carry out the exchange work to remove the service. So when Sky are referring to 'its with BT' they'd be referring to BT Openreach who'll carry out their work.
The Broadband Marker helpdesk can only remove ADSL in one situation, thats when the broadband on the line belongs to the previous tennant of the property & theres a clear termination in the telephone contract. This gives BT Wholesale legal access to cease off the ADSL service.
All other enquiries which dont fall into that situation (ie. you have service with another ISP and they havent ceased the service) then all BT Wholesale can do is advise & refer you to the ISP.
If theres any records or account details need ammending (which are stopping an order going through) then BT Wholesale can investigate & deal where possible!
Hope this clears up any confusion0
