Mobileshop cashback help and advice needed

I have a 12-month free line rental contract with mobileshop which started in Aug 06 and their t&c states that I can submit my 1st cashback claim at month 5. I took this to mean after being connected for 5 months but it turns out that it means after I receive bill number 5 i.e after being connected for 4 months. Because of this ambiguity I am now late and will miss my 1st cashback.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Did you have any success in getting your first claim through? I sense that mobileshop have had a lot of problems with this ambiquity too as their t&c for contracts after Nov 06 now states claims should be made after receiving bill number 6 instead of using the term `month'.
Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am still waiting for my first cashback from them which was due on 12th of this month. I sent cashback claim recorded delivery, got a text message and email to say they had received it. then nothing, thought no more until 60th day (12th) had passed. i live chatted with them and they said it would be in my account my start of this week. guess what!? nothing. Called them today and they told me they would send a cheque out as they were having bank system errors (yeah right) and it would be sent out first class tonight. I have this afternoon got an email from them "We are pleased to advise that your cashback cheque for £105.00 has been raised ready for posting from our offices on Friday.
This cheque is for the redemption of voucher(s):
***** Value £105.00
Our policy is that all post is sent second class so please expect your cheque on Wednesday or Thursday of next week.
If for any reason your cheque does not arrive within a week or so, please contact Customer Services on 0845 345 5000 or email customer.service@mobileshop.com

was at 01/01/07 now 03/07/07
overdraft was 1500 now 1360 must try harder.
loan was 13705.24 now 9791.62 due to be paid off 01/02/2011 but gonna aim for 01/05/2009!!
amex cc was 4210 now 3650.48 lobt at 4.9% due to be paid off in 01/02/08
total owed was £19415.24 now its £14802.10 going down!!!:money:
I am proud to be dealing with my debt!
just one day at a time, dont take on ANY NEW debt.0 -
Hope you get your money soon. Are you on a 12month free line rental deal too ? Were you required to send in your first claim at month 5?0

Mobileshop are reliable for cash back deals & I have always been paid…the cheques are quite often late but they have always turned up so don’t panic.

[Edit] I have just seen that they will pay 60 days from the receipt of my bill so that means there are a few days to go yet as I got confirmation of receipt from them on the 29th of November. They will hear from me in a weeks time then if they don't pay up.0 -
hi im with mobile phone shop ive had no problems with their cash back tho it can be long always get it in end i got 1st payment paid into account no probs 2nd one fair enough i missed sending vouchers bac(my fault i had a month to send them back) 3rd one i havent recieved yet but they phoned me yesterday to say my 4th voucher had been recieved and would i prefer 2x £63 argos vouchers instead of 2x £60 cash i said ok as ive a baby due in next few months so will spend them in argos so extra £6 quid for me when i queried i hadnt recieved 3rd lot of vouchers they said cheque was due out end of week but ive exchanged them for argos vouchers as well(30 days from voucher expiry rather than 60 for cash apperently) i'll let you know of any problems if they arrise but like i say no problem getting cashback i also think being with o2 help as they put bill number on invioce so it helps with sending correct bill0

Yep 12 month's free, as recommended by a work colleague, we are both on 02. First claim bill ending in 005, then 007 (which they have confirmed receipt of) and then 009 and 012.
I have decided that i am not going to factor in the £420 in total i should get back and when (please god!):A it comes through I am going to put against my credit card debt :money: . It has put me off getting another cashback one from July 2007 onwards though - plus they only seem to be doing 18 month contracts now. :mad:are you sitting comfortably?, then I'll begin.....

must be a new deal theve struck up they started letting you swap for oother goods last year i noticed but just to say i recieved my argos/homebase card today says 126 pounds will be credited to it within 72 hours and as i work for homebase i get 20% discount so my 120 cashback is worth 150 if i spend it in work:T
and like the girl on phone says if you agree to swapping for reward card/vouchers its processed quicker0 -
Just an update to my original post. In the end I managed to speak to a MobileShop CS rep (Rachel Flynn) and she was surprisingly very understanding and agreed that the t&c could have been misunderstood. She subsequently arranged for my cashback to go be processed. All in all, I was happy with MS's help to resolve the problem.0

A couple of times, I have sent a later bill (7th month instead of 6th month) and they have still given me the cashback.
About their "system" problem, I don't know how turue the problem is. But if you send a request for a voucher in place of money, you get it within 7 days!!!
I went for it, and now have my vouchers - which I have already spent today :j0
