and on the other side of the coin, i encounter numerous motorbikes weaving through the traffic at high speed, overtaking on bends, cheating queues and so on.

do these motorcyclists not understand that the cars people drive weigh a TON minimum, and if they get hit by a car at speed they will probably die?

    morons

I ride a motorcycle daily, and my car around once a week. The one thing I would say is that riding a motorcycle has been by far the best car driving lesson I have ever had. It has heightened my awareness of road danger, appreciation of other road users, and it really has made me aware of some very bad and dangerous driving. I've seen shocking behavious on 2 wheels and four but agree there are many out there with no sense of danger beyond their own airbag.

The best choice, as already mentioned: http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/

I have the ATC 3000 that I bought a long time ago and haven't used for ages, wasn't too bad but not great for detail.

To be honest though (I am a biker so fully understand what you are saying) I would just concentrate on not putting yourself into positions that threaten your safety or if somebody puts you in the position know how to get out of it. I know this is often unavoidable but just let it go if it does happen. After all, when you are trying to get a good picture of that driver on their phone it would be quite ironic if you didn't notice the car emergency brake infront of you...

One of the biggest things I have learnt is that we all make mistakes - some are stupid an some are honest - but then I know this and every time I get on the bike I know it could be my last, but this is a choice I make for something I love. To be honest though, you could say that potentially anytime anybody steps out of their door it could be their last, but that really is looking on the dark side of life.

There are lots of helmet cam 'death' film around - there isn't any need to make another. Even worse are the pretentious youtube helmet cams, usually by cyclists in London, that try and expose bad drivers - many doing some of the stupidist traffic violations I have seen - there are enough of them too.

I use a ContourHD camera on my helmet and post clips on Youtube. I recently sent links of clips relating to mobile phone use to A&S Police and the response I received wasn't the most positive, basically it said that if a driver went to court and pleads not guilty there is a good chance of the driver not being prosecuted. The full response can be found here http://redveee.blogspot.com/2011/11/mobile-phone-use-when-driving-is-going.html

That is plain stupid, i cannot believe that's the situation we live in now. So guilty no longer means guilty now?
I dont understand the rules regarding this talking whilst driving lark, if the problem is the conversation then why are handsfree allowed? if the problem is the hands being occupied then why are dictaphones, lipsstick etc etc seemingly being allowed?

Do the police even know whats legal & illegal anymore?

Thank you all for the further suggestions, ill look at them asap. Tbh this wasn't really the turn i wanted for the threat but i guess its a sensitive issue :D

Bottom line for me is that there are good and bad in every camp but the ppl who are deliberately putting my life at risk for what? a phone call? are the worst. Its not ignorance or just plain bad at driving its irresponsible selfish childish lazy behavior..unfortunately that doesn't seem to confine itself to driving nowadays.

have you looked on youtube? there are several used by cyclists, HD quality, around the £400 mark I believe. I forget the name. great quality though. I don't know how they would cope at a higher speed?
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?
