most people don't, a few bad drivers do. just as a few bad motorcyclists are asking to be knocked off their bikes when they make dangerous manoeuvres, but most motorcyclists do not
The trouble is most drivers seem to think that ANY sort of overtaking is dangerous.
Combine that with the mentality that anyone who overtakes is a "queue jumper" AND the way that people (especially women) defend to the death, that little patch of space in front of their cars, then you've got a situation where normal driving/riding is portrayed as being "dangerous". A situation where people feel the need to play road warrior vigilante to enforce non-existent road rules, which they made up in their own head having not read the highway code since they passed their tests!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Spot on. Had a row with a gimp in an Audi just last week because he didn;t like the fact I merged in front of him on a bike. Failed to note it was two lanes going into one and I did nothing illegal but didn't stop him leaning on the horn.
Embarassed his mrs though with his red faced rant. That and I might have suggested he was trying to compensate for some sort of inadequacy.

the police love em, if you are in an incident, it's evidence...of what part you played...and how you drove in the run up to it...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Whilst not entirely disagreeing, it could be argued that "that little patch of space in front of their cars" is in fact nothing more than the safe distance we are all supposed to leave between us and the car in front.
Someone jumps in it, so you have to drop back to leave a safe gap, someone else steams around and jumps in it, so you have to drop further back and so on...
Nothing wrong with overtaking if you can then make your own progress into the distance, but not when you simply grab that small space and appear more than happy to drive bumper to bumper with zero safety margin at all.0 -
If drivers left the proper gap then no one would be bumper to bumper. If there isn't space to get another car in easily, you are too close. Simple.

These cams look really good, <http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2011/9/18/the-crocolis-hd-extreme-cam-longest-review-ever.html>
, that website also talks about 808 keyring cameras which are much smaller and ive used on my bicycle to record aggressive driving with really clear results. not tried it on my motorbike tho - i suspect the engine noise would become over dominant..0 -
Anyhooooo
OP, check out "Mini DVR3"“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I use a ContourHD camera on my helmet and post clips on Youtube. I recently sent links of clips relating to mobile phone use to A&S Police and the response I received wasn't the most positive, basically it said that if a driver went to court and pleads not guilty there is a good chance of the driver not being prosecuted. The full response can be found here http://redveee.blogspot.com/2011/11/mobile-phone-use-when-driving-is-going.html0
