For real?
The OP was asking a bit of advice and you ask that question this forum is getting worse.
I can appreciate it's harsh for the OP to hear/read statements like that but imho Enfieldian didn't state it in a rude manner just a direct one... and please don't try and tell me that you didn't think "Slippery slope" when you read about the OP needing more credit this time and starting to be held at arms length by their own bank and the pay day loan company they've used previously.
Sometimes good advice is telling people what they need to hear, not what they want to.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
@ Enfieldian
I am not as new as you may think, I have been reading this forum for years. And so what if one of the the first questions I ask has to do with this, I think your comment was rude.
And no; my reason for finding lenders that do not call has nothing to do with avoiding to pay them back. If a person chooses not to pay them back the fact that they have a telephone number is irrelevant, as it can be changed or phone calls ignored.
Like I have said my credit score is OK it is not poor or trashed and as such I wish to keep it that way and indeed try to improve it. I have no intention of taking paydays and not paying it back.
The phone calls are bothersome! I don't mind doing it and if they call I speak to the advisor. They ask the exact same question I have spent a good amount of time completing through their website so I'd prefer they didn't call, that is all.
Geesh
Quickquid - no call, fast payout
Paydayexpress - no call, fast payout0 -
By what rationale do you consider having multiple payday loans all over your credit file a good thing?0
-
I got accepted for a quickquid loan the following day. I have been accepted with 4 other payday loans but for less than I would likeMy bank (Halifax) has recently refused to increase my overdraft limit
You are living in an overdraft and the bank believe you cannot be trusted with more.
You have taken at least 5 Pay Day Loans, 4 of those would only lend less than you required and Wonga have now declined you altogether.Like I have said my credit score is OK it is not poor or trashed and as such I wish to keep it that way and indeed try to improve it.
Honestly, wake up! your credit score is not OK, it is worse than poor and any reputable lender is going to turn you away without a second thought as soon as they look at your borrowing record.0 -

Is this a judging forum or what? Are we on Judge Judy? :rotfl:
I simply asked a question, why has my intentions become the hot topic? And why so negatively? Some people like talking on the phone and some don't. So what.
I was looking for payday lenders that don't bother me with phonecalls. So what.
And FYI I have other accounts with different banks and each have varying overdrafts, circumstances change along the way and even though I felt p'ed off, I can understand Halifax decision not to increase my overdraft any further. They said they would review it in 6 months. They haven't written me off as a scam artist just yet, sorry to disappoint.
I think I'll stick to reading this forum occasionally, leave the golden oldies to themselves. Why not stunt the growth of this forum by shooting the new members, great! Seems you cant ask questions without being judged anyway. I didn't ask anyone if they felt I was on 'slippery slope'.

Enfieldian comment came off rude even if they didn't mean it to.0 -

Where did I state I have taken 5 payday loans? I have had 2 in the past, not 5! And 2 that have been repaid on time.
I am not living in an overdraft, any overdraft I use get's paid in good time. I make enough money for my lifestyle but bad things happens and sometime more is needed. I Don't expect you to understand, maybe your finances are all peachy. Good for you!
I have checked my credit score online recently and it is 'OK' around the middle. Did you see it? Didn't think so.
Who's gonna tell me this chick isn't being rude !!!!!! is going on here?
Why don't you Wake Up Chalkie99! How about this time on the right side of the bed followed by a strong black coffee, extra sugar. Your comment was completely uncalled for but of course you don't believe that so go right ahead, knock yourself out.0 -
Read your own posts - they will give you a clue what you said.
You ask
- Sometimes, maybe, but actually it is a money saving forum - the clue there is in the forum name. no-one here is going to encourage people to take Pay Day Loans, there are way too many posts from people in despair because they took them.Is this a judging forum
You think your credit score is OK but the people who make those scores up do not actually lend money so don't get taken in by them. Your real credit score is reflected by the fact that your bank won't extend your overdraft and that Wonga have turned you down.
we know it's not what you want to hear but one day you are going to have to wake up with the famous Martin Lewis "light bulb moment".0
