Postage when buyer lives very close to me!!!

  • Why do people keep saying proof of delivery, the majority of people send stuff by post that doesn't get a proof of delivery anyway
  • Pop it in their letterbox and pay yourself the £2.75 for the postage (you posted it didn't you) and packaging (you packaged it didn't you). Get someone to photograph you posting it through the door, would be hilarious if he claimed he didn't receive it :)

What is the point of the photograph? eBay will ONLY accept online proof of delivery in the event of a claim.

If the buyer claims they didn't recieve it then they will win their claim regardless of whatever else you try to produce, photograph or not.

So, no, not hilarious at all.

This "majority" clearly have never lost anything by RM, or this trusting "majority" have never suffered an obvious attempt at being ripped off by an ebayer! I don't sell very much, but have had both misfortunes happen to me and now, regardless if it's a sale worth £1 or £49, or more, I always get a proof of postage. And hey, what do you know the three ebayers that have tried to rip me off, by saying they never received item, have been the ones spending merely a quid or so on the item, evidentally thinking it's such a small sum they can get away with it and I'll just not be bothered by the hassle and simply rack it up as a loss. Doh! I don't take things lying down and as my postal service is normally spot on, I investigate... Suffice to say, two of those ebayers are no more on ebay... ( the other is pending). I do hate lying cheats and I am sure they got away with hundreds of pounds worth of "free" stuff via this method.

I did once not receive something that was hand delivered by a seller. I live in a block of flats and there are two separate entrances. If the seller had told me he was going to hand deliver I would have told him which entrance to go to. After two weeks I contacted him to ask where my parcel was and he told me he had delivered it on the day I paid for it. I went round to the other entrance and there was no sign of a parcel and no one could remember what parcels had arrived two weeks ago.

Pop it into them and then hope they are as nice as you and dont claim the item was not received
which they will win because you cannot prove it was delivered.

this would be my only concern

Maybe contact the buyer and suggest dropping it off for a cash payment on the door?

I'd refund postage through paypal if anything, because you'd get a little bit in paypal fees refunded
  • Just post it through the door. Refund the postage. Job done.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Proof of postage and proof of delivery are very different things, proof of postage will not win you an eBay or PayPal dispute!!!
