Misleading pricing on Plasma TV

Hi there,
Just wanted some advice really. I'm in the market for a Plasma TV. I went into a shop which had two flatscreen plasmas on a deals - one was for a Panasonic Viera 42" for £449.99, and the other is a Samsung 51" Plasma for a ridiculous price of £849.00 (even though it's meant to be on a deal!!)
But - here's the thing, on both the boxes they have payment plan glued to them. On the Panasonic one, it states a price plan for £449.99 in 6 separate monthly payments interest free (no big deal!) But on the other it states a price plan for £399.99 in 6 monthly payments?!
Just wondering if I'm within my rights to complain and state that it's misleading to leave that as that prices in other stores for the same TV is considerably less?? Can I insist on paying £399.99 for the item as it's been listed at that price for longer than 48 hours??

No, you can't insist on anything. It's clearly a mistake, rather than "misleading". But by all means alert them to their errorOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

no you cannot insist, if they make a genuine error (which this obviously is!) then they do not have to sell to anyone.0

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
Any shop can refuse service to anyone without reason so they could advertise everything at 1p if they wanted to and just refuse you service at the till.0

What model was the samsung? Becuase £849 for a really good spec plasma of that size isn't bad.... well it's a samsung plasma so not THAT great... but still, top end plasmas of that size are still around 2-3k.Just wondering if I'm within my rights to complain and state that it's misleading to leave that as that prices in other stores for the same TV is considerably less??
Why would you complain that other places are selling it cheaper? Do you even know if it's the same model? Seeing as you referred to the Panny as a 'panasonic viera 42"' you probably aren't aware that EVERY panasonic TV (around 50 or so different models every year) are called Viera. There isn't just one Samsung plasma. If you're going to complain about other places being cheaper, make sure you know which model you're comparing it to.0 -

Maybe they have just temporarily ramped the prices up to satsify the regulators before the MASSIVE 50% OFF CHRISTMAS SPECIAL EXCLUSIVE DEAL.0
