just that men would be more inclined to read a book on Steve Jobs than women
What evidence is there to support that?

I agree that both men's brains and bodies work differently.
This is exactly why as a woman I'm interested in reading the book - to get an insight into how this man's mind worked because it's fascinating to me.
Just because my brain works differently doesn't eman I'm less interested, In my case it measn I'm more interested cos he's different to me.

Is there any actualy evidence to support your assertion or is it just your opinion?
If it's just an opinion I don't have an issue with it, but it shouldn't be stated as if it were a proven fact.
I suspect we don't know who's buying the book and probably never will.

I haven't read this book but I have read lots of bits from it that have been mentioned in the press. Jobs sounds like one of the most unpleasant, mean-spirited, tight, greedy and bitter people you could wish to meet. I'm not a Bill Gates fan either but at least his billions have been spent trying to cure malaria. Still, a good deal for those that want to get the book.
  • wow, it turned into a gender war in here. OP should have just put "One for the apple fanbois"

I am male work in IT and have absolutely no interest in this book.

Why should I want to read the biography of a salesman what Jobs actually knew about the technology he sold was little if anything.

(As you can probably guess not an Apple fan more sense than money to buy the over stylized over priced fashion items.)
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
  • Bought two today. one for a Xmas present and one for me,- yes me a mere female.:p

BTW, girls regularly outperform boys in maths. I think this is particularly pleasing given that girls are told constantly that boys are better at maths and sciences ,- when there is absolutely no evidence to back it up:mad:
