Grahams got a bit of a track record of putting too much (any) value on "thanks". They should just remove them from this board. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

FWIW, I also remembered the recent thread about HSBC offering some mortgage deal which attracted some comments on it being a poor deal. It crossed my mind when I started to read this thread, and I would have referred back to the HSBC thread if I were replying on the subject matter.

If that makes me a stalker, so be it. I'm a stalker. Maybe we could come up with a name for me? Or are you quite happy at the moment with this pretence that I have some kind of thanks file where I note who's thanked what?
It's nice to see people putting so much effort into their posts though.
I made my point that the stance changes dependant on who has posted the thread. I then proved my point. The reason for all this nonsense about thanks files and stalkers is simply because I have highlighted the hypocrisy (and its plain for all to see) and there is nothing left to do but to try and tarnish a name by going to extreme, and somewhat immature lengths.
Take no offense from this, but I think you should take a break from these forums. I think you're getting a little worked up about something that is quite frankly, utterly pointless in the grand scheme of things.0 -

That advice could be given to most of us on this forum, to be honest.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
Rinoa is male? Blimey, I was off base on that one......We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I think you're probably correct, but certainly when you start counting the number of 'thanks' you receive and especially counting the number of 'thanks' your adversaries/enemies receive then it's time to spend a bit more time in the real world.
Just viewing people as 'enemies' to be 'conquered' is probably enough of an excuse to take a break. Eh, Dervprof?0 -

I agree.
Who's counting 'thanks' received ? I doubt anyone here is doing that.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

I think you'd be surprised. I've seen more than a few people in both 'gangs' commenting on 'thanks' and someone even created a sockie (rewired) in order to just thank people. Seriously, that's a little strange don't you think?
In fact while we're on the subject, do you not also find the whole 'Bull' and 'bear' gang thing a little weird?0 -
I agree.

Anyone you want to suggest is, apparently.
Ammusingly, this is still going, all because after looking back at the thread I produced I saw, and stated that wotsthat had thanked a post saying that the HSBC 90% LTV was a sh*t deal, therefore suggesting he didn't agree with my thoughts suggesting the HSBC deal was a step forward.
Whereas on this thread he stated (a worse) deal was a sign of confidence in the mortgage market.
Suddenly, I have thanks folders where I note down thanks and a note book to go with it to write notes, and should take a break from the forum as I'm apparently now not only noting down thanks, writing notes on them, but also keeping tabs on the amount of thanks.
Not only that, but I'm apparently also a stalker.
Oh what a to-do.0 -
Graham_Devon wrote: »Awww, pretty bitter about it all. More total exaggeration!! I'm sorry, I'll never pick you up on your hypocritical stance again....of course you can follow me around picking me up on everything as you do if that makes you feel better....would you like a hug?
Here's the post I had the gall to thank. I think I've posted in this thread that the new Barclays 90% doesn't seem to be that competitive either. If you somehow judge this to be hypocrisy then that seems quite harsh or maybe you don't know what hypocrisy means.
The mistake you've made is assuming that if I thank a post it means without doubt that I completely agree with the content. For example someone might try to make the point that renting is cheaper than buying but also point out that you are an idiot with the analytical brain of a goldfish and maths ability that would make a ten year old blush. I might thank a post like this even though I only agree with 50% of the content. (NB1 - I think buying is cheaper than renting), (NB2 - 50% is a half expressed as a percentage) . I realise that you would never do anything like this but then again you are a better human being than I could ever aspire to be.
Don't need a hug BTW but I've given you a few thanks because they mean so much to you.Not bad at all? The rates aren't exactly heart warming. 4.09% above the base rate? Get real, thats a s*** rate! The 2 year fix at 4.49%? Not great either. I assume the rates stated are for 90% LTV, would be interesting to see the 80% and 85% LTV rates.
HSBC also are very strict on their lending criteria. I can get £150k mortgage with my income with most banks and BS', HSBC will only lend a maximum of £115k.
Now I for one love HSBC, but I wouldn't get a mortgage with them in the 80%+ LTV, they're not exactly competitive.0
