You are not on your own. I have already ate a large box of thorntons ...If I buy anything more I am going to give them to hubby to hide them or they will not survive:rotfl:
Me too just cant resist the chocolate and biscuits calling out to me.
BUT pleased with myself at the mmoment just donated my box of Victoria biscuits to a bring and buy that my grandaughteris organising, I am thinking this is very MSE as I may not now need to buy new jeans in January:rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -
Spent £2.59 on a rather tasty mushroom and egg roll at the hospital on monday, as I hadn't bought enough food with me and I was feeling exhausted needing a pick-me-up. This will go on the grocery budget, but I don't really care, its a one off in an unusual situation. My grocery bill might be quite high next week replacing all the "easy" food/frozen meal portion supplies we've polished off so far this week. My Grandfather is really very ill and they suspect septecimia so spending lots of time at the hospital after an awful 1:30am emergency visit...staying bang on track with groceries just isn't so important right now, but I will do my best to bring food with me, continue to cook meals etc.:(
Bless you CompBunny :grouphug: Hope your Grandfather is better soon and I'm wishing him a speedy recovery xBe the change you want to see in the world - Gandhi

Although the description says 'crushed tablets' it is just like buying fine washing powder. It came in a bag like the one shown in the picture. I have bought a 'klip-it' sandwich box style tub from the 99p shop & have decanted a tub full at a time out of the bag. I keep the bag in the garage & the tub in my utility. I have not had any clog up at all. I keep an old egg cup in the tub. I would say it is a large egg cup & I heap it full. I am still on my first 'klip-it' tub full & have been using it for about a month doing 5-8 wash loads per week. I have just weighed the bag & there is stil 8.5kg left in the bag. I would definitely recommend it
I have smelt it & reckon it is Ariel. My friend was in agreement with me.
Chili was lovely. Got to have it again tonight because I made so much I ran out of tubs & space in the freezer!! :rotfl:2017 GC O-£93.46/£160; S-£136.26/£160; A-£130.55/£160; J-£47.12/£160;

Hi All, hope everyone is doing well, I have managed to rack up 4 NSD's since I last posted but did a very quick shop at L!d! today resulting in a £7.08 spend for baking items needed for mini Christmas cakes and some basic everyday items.
Tonights meal has ended up being a real hotch-potch of things that were lurking in the fridge. Although not signed up to the "Dont throw anything out challenge" I'm making a concerted effort to use up everything I have, as a result I'm having l/o hm fishcake, corned beef thats been lurking in the fridge for a couple of days, some very sad looking spinach and baked beans, yoghurt and fresh fruit for pud.
Can I ask if anyone has tried freezing tinned corned beef - I used to by the small tins cause a large one keeps me going for days, but I recently started buying the larger 'basics' one but after two meals I still have a third of the tin left, I know it would keep for another couple of days in the fridge, but for next time wondered about freezing some when I open the tin.

Coolbunny hoping for what is the best for your grandfather, dementia is a horrible thing, my MIL had it, and it was hard, especially as she started to believe my hubby were hers and she used to call me such horrible names for trying to take him off her, she even attacked me once when she was in hospital with a water infection, which can make older people even more confused, she was 78 at the time but so strong, took 4 nurses and and orderly to get her off me. I could cope but for poor hubby it was so awful his mother flirting with him. We were told its not usually common for it to affect people like that, usually they just forget.
Going out for lunch yesterday wasn't so bad as we both had a big meal ( me roast chicken - it was a leg and a quarter so massive - , carrots - only veg left- mashed pototoes, roast potatoes and gravy, and hubby all the bacon ( I do not cook bacon at home so he grabs it whenever he can, I cannot stand the smell of it cooking) they had left, 3 sausages, beans and two rolls with butter and we both had two cups of tea each, oh and hubby had a very big slice of victoria sponge which was whoospied down from £1.60 to 94p, not bad for £10, and it wasn't till around 3pm so we actually didn't feel like anything much last night - hubby just had a few biscuits ( any excuse) and me just a couple of rounds of plain bread ( home made) and butter ( well flora).
NSD grocery wise although have bought the Food Hospital book as want to see if their advise will help my reflux, suspected diabetes and weight.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

My Mr T vouchers arrived today. Now have £54 odd :j I have been planning on using them to buy some christmas spirit - in particular a bottle of brandy. Not sure on what to use balance of vouchers on - whether to save them or treat myself to a magazine subscription?
Just been doing my online shop but gone to check out and can't get one of the vouchers to add and in fact its now coming up the voucher is invalid ? (when it shouldn't be??) Oh well, will try again tomorrow when meal plan is finalised.
Have almost been true to my word and stayed out of the supermarket this week apart from two visits - one on Monday when I bought a prawn salad (£1.35). and today when I bought some chocolate brioche rolls (£1.86). Its quite interesting because I added up today my spends up until the 9th October and its a lot lot more than my spends so far this month! will try to keep it up and stay out of the supermarket as much as possible!!!!!0 -
