any ideas where I can find an affordable solution for using data while travelling abroad (mainly in Europe)
Are there any foreign networks that provide a more reasonable tariff?
I'm not interested in minutes, just the data.
thanks.

Unfortunately I don't think there are any cheap options now. Wind from Italy used to be excellent, but no longer.
If you want 50 or 100MB then I think you're in trouble, but if it's just for emails and you can stop images and get by on a couple of megabytes, then Virgin's tariff of 0.5p/KB does not change when abroad.
Or Wind has low use options of around £2 for 2MB or £4 for 4MB. Or there is a new Swisscom data roaming deal I don't know much about, but I think it is has a monthly rental of 5 CHF (just over £2) and data slightly over £1/MB
There may be local SIM cards in some countries with better tariffs, but it really isn't easy to find out
you might have to find and pay for wi-fi zones0
