Virgin Broadband 10mb

I just wanted to ask a question about Virgin BB
I have been with them for 11 years now, and never really had this problem.
I pay for Upto 10mb BB with them it costs me £22.40 a month for this service, i use the internet between about 3pm-11pm, i just browse, watch a few gaming streams and download a few updates for games and for a while now my speed has been capped to 2.37mbps which is quite annoying at times, now is this normal for Virgin these days, i always thought £22 for 2mb service was alittle expensive, but i just went with it, now is there anything i could do or am i stuck with these speeds ?
I be greatful of any help, thanks.

Yes - you could keep your downloads below the published limits before 9pm or upgrade to a package with less restrictions.
Discounts will be reducing that £22.40. It's currently £21 stand alone or £13.50 (after discounts) with a phone line. If you are paying more call 150 take the "thinking of leaving" option and ask for your price to be reduced to the current new customer one.

Yeah i understand when you say i should limit my downloads, but all i do each day is basic browsing and watch gaming streams, atm im capped to 2mb (thought thats intil 9pm, but i don't know) and i haven't a clue when it will be back to normal, probably when im not using it, now if i can't do that without getting capped whats the point in paying for high speed broadband, im tempted just to go back to dial up coz i really don't see how its worth it anymore.0

Are you on L or M (see your bill it will say). M has lower limits (see link above). The cap is to 25% so 2.5Mbps which should be plenty for any of the uses you've mentioned. It lasts for 5 hours from when you exceed the limit.
If you aren't happy, can't reduce the streaming, and aren't prepared to upgrade then move on. I doubt you'll be staying on dialup long though and that won't support any streaming at all.
All ISPs have rules and employ some method or other to keep usage within reason.0
