I always convert audiobook CDs to AAC in iTunes then convert to m4b chapterised and upload to my iPod.0

Doesn't matter. We already now how big the file is and that it is mp3 format, as wildheart says, it's approx. typically 1 MiB/minute. So there you have five hours.
