Some banks will charge you, others not. Best to check the T&Cs of your account. I know that RBS group will.0

As a matter of interest. I presume the retailers specify to the bank what type of transaction each transaction relates to. For example if you go for shopping and request say £20 cashback, then the bank is aware of this separately even though we just receive the 'total' bill.0
