Hiya fellow 'Bootsers'XX!!
I Had a great day trying out all the lovely products I've got from all the 'glitches'. 'Glossy locks' is just fantastic - It has made my hair look and feel really smooth and soft. I love the 'Golden glow' cream as well - at first I thought I'd be giving them away to family/friends but now I want to keep it all!!! GREEDY ME!!
I think I'm going mad - every so often I have to open my cupboard just to 'check' my 'stash' is ok!......I had suncare 'withdrawal symptoms' today - did everyone else have that 'rush' when getting them? I think I need another 'Boots glitch - fix'!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO SPOTTED THE DEALS AND TOLD US ABOUT THEM!!- I AM SO GRATEFUL TO YOU ALL XXX!!!!!0 -

i have just received a tip to come over to this board re boots suncream. Apparently there was a glitch at boots and loads of lucky MSEers got loads of free suncream.
Hi, just wanted to say that I do understand it can be hard to even afford a holiday, let alone the extras that you need to take with you - but, I wouldn't call the suncream, or any of the other bargains that you read about, 'free'. It's taken me ages to read and understand the thread, find a Boots branch that stocks the items (I have to travel 20+ miles as the local branches are very small), spend time in the store sorting out what to buy with what, queue up and worry about if it will go thru, then travel home again. Most of the things I am not using myself will go to family, or be carbooted - the proceeds will help pay for my holiday. Please, no-one take offence - of course there's never any harm in asking, but as I said - nothing is free!
Oh i see, i'm sorry i thought people had got it free.0 -
Lol jaspalc, i sorted out my haul yesterday, and decided to keep most of it:o oops. I will go and try out the glossy locks in a minute, havent opened it yet:T
I went into Boots yesterday and decided i didnt really need any more bogof suncare, nor a wrap for my mum who already has a huge bag of stuff sitting here ready for her to collect. Do i deserve a medal for walking out empty handed? Had just brought a wally trolley too and really had an urge to buy stuff to fill it with:rotfl:
edited for spelling mistake0 -
Hi all,
Have just given a huge bag of No7 suncare etc to my mum. Felt sad for giving it away-lol! my drawer feels empty-even though it is still packed!! I also haven't been into boots for a day, what's wrong with me??0 -
annapantscats wrote:My local Tesco are selling off their own brand 'Finest' suncreams really cheap (new packaging coming out soon??) I got factor 15, aftersun with shimmer and factor 25, they were all under £1 each.
My chances of a foreign holiday this year are zero...but we do actually get sunny days in this country so my Boots haul is all mine all mine
Wow thats cheap, i must go and check my local. Thanks for the tip.
I also thought we wouldn't get a holiday for ages, but after reading sloppychops tip i managed to get 1 week to the canaries for 2ads, a 16 & 14 year old for £194(total)!
We have had a really unlucky and miserable couple of years and as a family i feel we really need this holiday.
I find it really humbling when i come onto sites such as this and have total strangers going out of their way to help you get the best deals and give you info on anything and everything. It gives me a warm feeling inside.0 -

3 x Sanctuary Warming Charcoal Detox Mask (3x .88p = £2.64P)
1 X Botanics Mens Shave Stick (£1.75p)
1 x Boots cold & flu sachets
Used men & womens £2.50 facial vouchers, 100 pt Botanics voucher from mag & 100 pt Boots cold & flu voucher from mag.
I was looking for the Sanctuary Warming Charcoal Detox Mask today but couldn' find it. When I just checked online, there is only a sachet for £1.79. Is that the one? Was it reduced?
Thanks.0 -
At Rotherham Parkgate Boots found essential aromatherapy Blissful Gift Sets reduced to £1.25, contains blissful bath essence 75ml, blissful body lotion 50ml and blissful moisturising oil spray 25ml. Very nice gift and apparently down from £5. I reckon this would work with the 100 points for essential aromatherapy from the AC machine although as I've lost my card I couldn't put it to the test. Would make the gift set 25p net.0

Doubtful wrote:Just been to Boots and got Sanctuary voucher for 200 pts from ACM. How are people managing to get the points on face masks and minis. My voucher says cannot be used on sachets or minis? I picked up 2 face masks and a body butter (not realising that this was a mini). I thought I would get 3 for 2 and 200 pts, but the voucher wouldn't scan because the stuff was all sachets and a mini.
I used two Sanctuary ACM vouchers yesterday - both times on sachet face masks in conjunction with the £2.50 voucher. I've just looked at the extra voucher I have and it says 'excludes miniatures and sachets' - though I don't remember seeing that on the screen when I printed out the vouchers.
I'm now very confused.
I also thought people had used the vouchers on the normal Sanctuary 3 for 2 things - but my ACM voucher says it's only for Skincare which isn't on 3 for 2.0 -
jamtart6 wrote:for those carbooting their Boots haul - did you see a post on this thread about being a registered trader to do this or something?
Or have I just made that up?!
As I understand it - if you 'buy' something (even if it worked out free???) and actually go on to sell it it is 'trading' and as such you would be classed as a trader to the Inland Revenue.
Might be wrong in understanding this but I have read it somewhere also - so people to do buy to sell on beware, the tax man might catch on to it. Doubtful I know but ........................................The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -
I think Freebie Junkie is the best person to ask re: trading etc!
I can't get my head around it..but, think if you get a freebie and sell it, technically you should pay tax on any money you make, but if you have paid for it, and already paid tax on that purchase, you shouldnt need to be taxed on it again if you sell it!
I've confused myself now!!! Was trying to be helpful - honest!!!:rotfl:0
