I see someone has been in touch with customer services/is taking up with a store manager why they were refused a voucher in conjunction with a 3 for 2.
Please think again.....
If you read the voucher YOU WILL SEE it is not MEANT to be used in conjunction with ANY other offer or discount. It is there is black or white.
If you tell CS/Store manager that you "have done it before" all you are doing is letting Boots know about the "glitches" that You, Me, EVERYBODY has taken advantage of in the last few weeks. NONE OF US ARE MEANT TO USE THEM IN CONJUNCTION. If an SA does their job right and refuses, accept it with good grace and move on. Kicking up a fuss only brings Boots ever closer to preventing glitches in the future....or knocking vouchers on the head altogether !
I realise the store manager is ringing you back but try and drop the subject because you are opening up a can of worms and in reality the sa that refused you WAS doing their job right.0 -

So if you want the free bag when you spend over £15, you cant use the voucher either - as this is another offer too?0 -
If any SA were to refuse me I would accept it with good grace as in reality it is a combination of two offers.
I would not be reporting them to their manager/kicking up a fuss because
(a) They are doing their job right at the end of the day
(b) The manager may lobby higher management to implement till changes that prevent glitches in the future
I don't mean to be harsh but it is about (a) giving SAs a break and (b) not creating "complaints" that might be acted upon to the detriment of us all.
At the end of the day people are getting themselves all worked up when a poor SA tries to keep to the terms and conditions of the vouchers. The SA gets called all kinds of names and the person flies off to phone CS or report them to the store manager. This creates a "complaint" which higher management at Boots want to act upon. One way of getting rid of this "type" of complaint is to have less voucher offers and/or program the tills not to accept them in conjunction with any other offer. Then all of the offers that we have all been taking up will vanish and all because of the "stink" created by a few aggrieved shoppers.0 -

Hmmmmm...I know where you are coming from, but surely the only FAIR way to do this is see if the till accepts it? If it does, then basically that's what should be charged. To me, it really isn't up to an individual SA to define company policy.0 -
A SA is actually keeping to the company policy if they refuse to implement the £5 voucher with a 3 for 2. Think about it.
Just because a till glitch is ALLOWING this does not put them in the wrong.
A till might be wrongly set to charge £1 for a £100 item - if the SA questions a till glitch you cannot expect to walk out of the shop with the item for a £1 because "the till says so".
I really feel sorry for SAs because rather than SAs wanting to "write company policy" it is usually the customers - sometimes in a stroppy way
- wishing to "rewrite" terms and conditions to suit them i.e. get them the best deal. Using the old "till glitch" to back them up is not really correct ! Even in this thread we have seen some people trying to get the SA the sack for being such a dragon......
Team meetings will discuss voucher use/voucher implementation......kicking up a fuss only brings the curtain ever nearer to falling.0 -
when she told me 'i dont think the voucher will work' i asked her to try anyway and it DID work but she said 'we've been told NOT to accept them'. i KNOW what it says on the back in the t's and c's
i have NOT reported any SA to the manager and i wouldnt ( the lass was lovely).i MERELY wanted to know WHY my store weren't accepting them0 -
Hi Echo
I know you didn't but there have been other cases where people have (if you want to trawl through 100 pages)
I still think it is best to not draw attention to glitches in the tills because it just takes one manager a request to head office for the tills to be reset to PREVENT glitches and the curtain falls on the offers.......
I know it's a perfectly valid question to ask why some SAs do and some don't - why some stores do - some don't take vouchers in conjunction with the other offers (as per the strict T and Cs) but potentially it could lead to blanket bans/till tweaks that stop things in the future.....:eek:0 -
used up 3 vouchers today on the fake tan kit that is 6 pounds - sa said i don't think it will work but scanned it and it did - bonus
are those juicers (1.50 ish)that are in the sale heavy? we do not have sale stuff in our local store - hence the travelling out to boots! but all the stores near me send all there sale stock to chelmsford
if they are light enough to send and someone has a spare I would be gratefulcoupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -
The Wagamama juicers (£1.50) are heavy - I was not able to get one either but to be honest they are not very effective - only good for citrus fruits and you can get more juice out with an old fashioned glass juicer (cost less than a £1). They are more "for show" and the Wagamama name bumped up the price to £15 RRP.0

Well, I am typing this from the middle of my street with an illegal computer connection to my neighbours phone line;) Yes, I have been evicted for spending all my rent money on Bootsing but hey, it was FUN!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
I would recommend anyone withing the East Kilbride vicinity to go to either the Town Centre store or Kingsgate store for any deals in No7 . The No7 SA's Yvonne and Barbara are fantastic and offer to heklp out any way. I work in a shop myself, so know about customers and giving customer service. These girls are great, always have a smile and help out with the offers. If you are scared of trying any of them, then go here and they will put you at ease.
Ohhh, and I got
2 x Suncreams @ £11.50 each
1 x Face powder @ £9.50
used my No7 voucher and got ANOTHER back! Told her to stop giving them to me as she was encouraging me to come back up and spend more money:rotfl:The world is full of Pink Fluffy Clouds......you just need to open your eyes to see them:)
