Ocado rising my delivery pass fee? (from £9.99?)

  • Nobody has mentioned the Green Van option.
I believe you can use the Green Van for your delivery as and when another Ocado van is in the area, it encourages people to use it by offering a lower delivery charge. Obviously you won`t have as much flexibility as your delivery will be paired with somebody local who has already booked a certain time slot, it may save you money though and the vans less fuel and impact on the environment. Ocado try wherever possible to help i.e recycling carrierbags, using bio diesel, running with only three quarters of a tank to save weight

I've never thought of finding out what those green vans were about. I've just booked the most convenient slot for me, and didn't take any notice of the colour of the van. As for the carrier bags, I don't give them back to them, as I am using them for my dustbin.

i have an offer for 69.99 for the year for anyday - but am resisting atm as I often get 25% a shop voucher which make it worth paying the delivery. if I get the pass are they less likely to send me the vouchers as they know I will shop there more??

Also do waitrose delivery send offers/ promos? The free delivery appeals - as does the fact its come from store rather than warehouse

It seems that as soon as you get the delivery pass they don't bother sending you any more vouchers. I know I haven't seen any vouchers in ages, if I've ever seen any.
I am not sure about Waitrose, I have never shopped with them, but I came very close to do so.:)
  • I shopped with waitrose deliver once and don't get any promo emails unfortunately :( although I did get a free lamb joint out of them worth £20 as they mucked up a substitution!

Spark is absolutely right about the vouchers.

Last year I noticed the delivery charge was rising rapidly so when I was sent an email about the delivery pass I did a few sums and figured it would save me money. However I didn't take into consideration that as soon as I signed up to the delivery pass the 10% and 15% off offers would disappear, so I have now worked out that the pass has actually cost me money rather than saved it!!

When I spoke to Ocado to cancel the pass I explained why I was cancelling but was assured that the money off vouchers were sent out randomly. However within a week of my direct debit expiring an email has appeared in my inbox offering me 15% off my next order. Sent at random eh? Yeah right!
