It seems the ones with a delivery pass have priority on Christmas slots. As you pay extra on delivery for those slots anyway, it doesn't make any difference whether you have a pass or not for the Christmas delivery charges.
Where do you find the CEO email address?

Delivery pass holders don't pay extra for delivery but your order has to be for £90 or more. I can book two slots over the Christmas week (20th – 24th December) but only one of these can be for 23rd or 24th December. I won't be booking two though!

CEO email addy - not sure if I've still got it but I must have found it either on Ocado's website or just by a search.

Mine has been 10.99 for a while but just had an e-mail to say it is being reduced to 6.99. Didn't realise that the amount people pay varies so I'll be letting them know I am not happy!

Erm, I can't rememebr having to pay for delivery for one slot the past few years but must have done as I've just booked my Christmas slot and have to this time.
  • I signed up for a year at £3.99 p/m which is brilliant value. I wouldnt pay the £9.99 it will go up to and will cancel when the year is up.
Its a good scheme tho, as I now get 3 out 4 deliveries from ocado, and just 1 from tesco.

There is an email address on the email I received to tell me the [STRIKE]good[/STRIKE] news, where you can submit your questions about delivery pass.
I am asking them how they decide who will be willing to pay more than others for the same service, as we seem to pay different charges.
Let see if I have an answer to that. They probably won't answer.
If they don't, I will go in search of the CEO email address and send him an email.

I had just a reply from Ocado :

    They say this :

"Regarding your e-mail, I would like to advise you that there is a special offer in place on your account. I am able to offer you the membership at £6.99 per month for another years contract."

So why didn't they offer the reduction in the first place, instead of rising my charges? There was no offer visible on my account online.

They didn't answer my question though, I think they are just trying it on with some people, see if they will do something about it or not. I can't see any other explanation for the random variation of the delivery pass charges.
I did tell them that I was thinking of moving to another online grocer in the new year, and now that Waitrose is becoming a direct competitor, they are better trying to keep their regular customers.

Delivery pass customers do have to pay for christmas delivery £9.99 for xmas eve and the 23rd!!!!!! I booked a slot thinking this was a mistake but then prompltly cancelled - glad I have my slot for Waitrose booked for the 23rd and it is free.

I shall not be renewing my delivery pass next year as when you sign up the special offers all stop - not really looking after your existing customers is it :(

It's just that with the delivery pass they know you will be shopping with them for the duration of your contract at least, so they don't need to woo you with offers anymore. You wouldn't pay a charge for your deliveries every month and not shop with them, would you?
I want to stick with them because the few times there were problems the customer service was excellent. But I don't like being taken for a stupid idiot, that's when I would be moving to someone else. (unless I allow myself to be a stupid idiot).
They did nearly lost me as a customer there.
You were always paying £9.99 for Christmas deliveries with Ocado, they might have to change that now that Waitrose grocery deliveries are expanding. Not long ago Waitrose weren't delivering in my area, now they do.
It seems that quite a few Ocado customers are moving to Waitrose.I know that the staff in the Waitrose shops are very good with customers, but I don't know what the Waitrose online shopping customer service is like when something goes wrong.
