How do i rehome our border collie?
Comments

Regardless of my personal opinion of anyone's reason to rehome, I would always prefer to see a dog in a home were it is wanted. Of course, that doesn't help with the real challenge which is finding that home. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

rickellison wrote:Thank you to everyone that has responded to my question but there was only one person who helped me (pboae), i did ask how to rehome oscar, not, "What should we do?" do you not think we have thought about all the possibilities of how to keep him, as i said we do love him, and so do our other 2 kids (19yo daughter and 15yo son) but we couldn't come up with any solutions, so that was why i asked about rehoming. As i said at the begining of my post this was my first time and its certainly the last time i'll be asking for advice, my wife is even more upset now than before, thanks to all the guilt trippers out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have known many posts on dogpages.co.uk where people have initially posted because they want to re-home their dog. Many times they don't realise the options open to them or where to get help, and are thankful when a solution is found meaning they can keep their much loved pet. Obviously we now know this is not the case in your situation, but I think it's unfair to call people 'guilt trippers' when people are only trying to help keep you and your dog together. I know it's a very difficult decision and you have probably gone through lots of options but don't forget this is a forum and we can only go by what you write on your messages. People only have the dogs best interests at heart and we don't know what other options you've considered unless you say so.
I hope you manage to find your dog a wonderful home where he will be happy,
