I succeeded in reaching £80 (so far) this year, which is far beyond my expectations when we still have 7 months to go, except... umm, I've only got £10 left now - but the garden is looking much better and it'll save me a fortune on veggies this year. :D

Ha ha, but that's the whole point isn't it, enjoy your veg and your garden and remember that at least you didn't have to take £70 out of your normal budget! :D

My thoughts exactly! :) I didn't even need to take it out my longterm 'garden & livestock' fund, which is what my quit smoking money is for, eventually. Those precious little £2 coins allow me a practice run but also curb any rash spending. It still doesn't beat the caravan someone got, though! That's what really inspired me to keep going even although I hardly ever get £2 coins in my change. :D
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I know what you mean, if you get something from it, it makes it all worthwhile. I need new hall, stairs and landing carpet plus two bedrooms so I am saving towards that at the moment... got a way to go yet, fingers crossed!

Well, not going to get my carpet at this rate!

Had to use £50 of my savings towards hubby's new motorbike - he's going to use that to get to work to save money on fuel bills - still, I suppose it wasn't wasted - so down to £6 at the moment....

Ohh, just been told by hubby that he has £12 of it left...:j :j

Excuse me if I am stupid, but is this a scheme to save £2 coins whenever you receive them? And if so, where can I get a sealed can, and when can I join the club?

    Hi there,
I'm new here too, but yes, it is to save £2 coins whenever you get them, you'll be amazed at how they add up!
I haven't got a sealed pot for mine - I actually hide them in a vase in my cupboard as no-one ever goes there so I know they are safe (I don't get any flowers, boo hoo! :D ) and then I can also count them now and again - they're very shiny little preciouses... :rotfl:

Good luck, here's to many more £2 coins
