  • I like to have wine in the evening. To make the bottle last a bit longer, I take just a little wine, add crushed ice and dilute it with lemonade to make a nice and refreshing long drink.

We sometimes have wine/cider with supper on the few occasions that we drink at home, and OH will have a beer with curry. We normally drink fruit juice (lots of HM apple juice at the moment) or semi skimmed milk and save the alcohol for days when we either have guests or are having a particularly nice supper.

To be honest, if I couldn't drink again I wouldn't miss it much, except on occasions like Christmas / NY / weddings etc when there is bubbly. I luuuuuurve a good bubbly!

  • I drink water with dinner and tea ('normal' and herbal depending how I feel - I also have IBS and find that peppermint tea works fantastically well whenever I feel an attack coming on) when I get back from work and after dinner. Sometimes if I want a treat I'll have a hot chocolate before bed.

Very very occasionally we will have wine if it's a special dinner or we bought some for a dinner party and it needs drinking, but that's maybe once every two or three months at most.

:) I drink tea (don't like coffee) but will switch from standard tea to herbal in the late evening.

I also keep one of those glass jugs which fit in the fridge door filled with water (tap water) which tastes very nice when chilled. And you can fancy-it up with ice and lemon to give it a sense of occasion.

I've never been a fan of colas and squashes; feel a bit unwell after drinking them. Although if I need a fast pick-up in a crisis it'd be a pint of coke....sugar and caffeine are rocket fuel to me.:p:o:D.

I don't know if it's related or not but since I stopped drinking tea my skin has got loads better. I've always suffered with adult acne (I have to take hormones to treat endo and they affect my skin) but it's really not bad at all at the moment. Probably nothing to do with the tea though!

It probably was the tea, I suffer from rosacea and have found my skin to be loads better since giving up caffeine :)

And in answer to the original question I have the odd glass of wine and other than that usually "herbal" type teas, Twinings have a new orange and cranberry one that's really nice, as is their lemon and ginger one.

    Chammomile or Gin.

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
