Always has to be after my birthday which is December 8th, although, I am away for Xmas this year and the OH will be spending it with his family, so i'm not sure if we'll have a tree or not.... We're celebrating our own christmas on the 27th.

  • We always put our tree up the first weekend of December, and take it down on 12th Night.

  • Always in Decemeber, can't undersatnd putting it up in November, unless it's a business!

This year probably will be the 3rd or 4th of Decemeber, if we have no commitments!

Previous years it's been the 2nd weekend in December as O/H's brother's birthday is the 3rd December so we're usually out that weekend. However, this year I have bought a couple of decorations early and don't see the point in putting them up in the loft so it looks like I've made a very, very early start on the celebrations!

I might wait until DD comes back from Uni this year so we can decorate the tree together.

  • Ours always goes up on the 1st Dec, and comes down before New Year...I've had enough of it by that point lol....:D

21st December, the day after my birthday

But taking it down is a different matter. I once left it up a whole year, (I think I took off the decorations!), by the time it got to the summer, I was half way to needing to put it back up again so I didn't bother.

It was a great talking point! :rotfl:

Wot beetlebug said! Except with mine it's the last Sunday before Christmas Eve.

If people must put them up (& I've been bullied into it for years) then the Sunday before xmas & down on 02 Jan is the way to go.

i leave it as late as possible these days . i used to be dead keen and festoon the place, but somehow the enthusiasm has faded over the years. I don't even get a tree now, just a few lights and holly. Don't have children though so less pressure! Will probably put them up the weekend before Christmas, probably 19th Dec this year. It all gets put away Jan 2nd. 2 weeks is long enough!
