Park 10 minutes away and put a folding bike in the boot for the last leg?

I'd be parking 10 mins away and walking in. But I wouldn't be making a fuss about it the way you are - I'd just quietly do it. Harder for you to do now, I'd have thought. So maybe go along with things for a few months - park in the essential user spaces when you know you're going back out.

You certainly live up to your username! That's a bit extreme over the sake of a couple of quid a day car parking charge.

Is there anything in your contract of employment that says you have to use the company car park? If there isn't then park off the premises and walk the rest of the way.

Get your heads together on this, march in the office as one and clearly state that if this is implemented you will all leave your cars at home.

You need a union, yes seriously, it's one of the things they are good at sorting out, assuming you elect someone who wants to do the best for their members and not feather their own nest.

If you don't stick together what happens when they decide later that the use of the car is part of your contract so they won't pay any allowances.

and if you haven't got one you should ALL be joining one asap

    few choices here

pay the fees and shut up >>>i would not do this:)
all complain en masse and point out you need the cars
park a few mins away and walk to from the workplace when needed
use a parking website to find a convenient drive and put the cost in expenses.
wait till your all clamped and the call out comes in and obviously none of you can go>>> my favourite option
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥
  • We have something similar at work
I live about 20 miles away and it would be at least two bus journeys and a train trip to get to work all for a 20 mile drive, Live in Wales and work in England so the public transport situation is a laugh at best.
This means in effect I 'must' buy in to this car parking scheme as there is no where local to park - yellow lines and busy town on the outskirts of Liverpool.
Our charges are somehow related to pay so I only have to pay about £11 a month where as managers etc pay more. I dont know if this is the same as your situation or if you all pay £2 per day or something which would work out steep.

I suppose if you all rebel then you may achieve something, though to be fair it may mean that the folks that live across the road stop driving in to work and you may find you have more free spaces which is always nice.

Please name the company, you are not slandering them, just detailing facts.

To be honest I would start looking for a new job, once they start clamping and fining customers, the company wont be there very long at all, word will soon get round, customers will take the huff and spend elsewhere.
