If you want to make doubly sure that this is a reputable breeder you could always contact the breed club to see if they have heard of said breeder and what sort of reputation they have

We got a dog through an ad on the Kennel Club. He's adorable BUT... this was clearly a back yard breeder and he was ill with fleas, worms and two nasty stomach bugs in his first few months. It took a long time for him to get better and we suffered from general lack of sleep.
Benson is a brilliant lovely puppy, who had a rough start not that you can tell from temperament or behaviour.0
